Gray put a nice ball into the Hatfield box but Chappell headed the ball out for a Gedling corner. Naughton's ball in found it's way to JOHNSON on the edge of the Hatfield box. He hit an unstoppable shot that flew into the net to make it 1-0 on 12mins. From the restart, Worrall ran through to hit a shot that was well saved by Mason He got down to claim the ball and deny Hatfield an equaliser in the space of a couple of minutes. Richards went on a run and fed the ball up to Naughton but Cuttel got a challenge in to clear the danger. Starbuck received the ball from Davies. He left his markers standing as he skilfully spun on a sixpence and ran through to hit a powerful shot on goal. Peet could only parry the ball out but Rogers was quickly in to clear the danger. Good work from Johnson put Richards in with a chance but he put his effort over the bar. Hardy won a free kick and Cuttel put a decent ball into the Gedling box but Davies got a foot in to clear. Peel won the ball and played it out to Johnson who put a great low ball across the face of the Hatfield goal. The ball went by the Hatfield keeper but Aldread failed to get a touch on it. Mason won the race for the ball with Winterman and sent a quick clearance out to Richards. He went on one of his typical runs down the right flank but was stopped in his tracks by Rogers. Gray won a corner but Johnson's ball in was took by Peet. He threw the ball out to Hardy who broke down the left but Davies did well to get a firm tackle in. Sheppard won a free kick on the edge of the Gedling box. Cuttel squared the ball into the path of Winterman whose shot was blocked by Ramadam. Cuttel had a shot saved and Winterman was denied by a good tackle from Peel as the first half came to an end. HT 1-0.

Atkinson broke up a Gedling attack and played the ball up to Worrall. He laid the ball off to Winterman whose effort was saved by Mason. Hardy won a free kick but before the kick could be taken Brandy replaced Aldread. Rogers put the free kick inches over the bar. Gedling hadn't done that much in the first half and Hatfield were by far the more adventurous in the second. Naughton played a great ball up to Needham who ran clear and then put his shot wide. Atkinson put a good ball into the Gedling box that was cleared out to HARDY. He brought the ball down on his chest and fired the ball past Mason to make it 1-1 on 60mins. Johnson went down the right flank and put a cross over to Brandy who hit a shot on the turn that pulled a great save out of the Hatfield keeper. Hindson won a free kick and the ball was played to Standish who hit a shot just past the post. Langton played a good ball to Standish who again went close. Langton and Standish were causing a few problems for Gedling since coming on in the second half. Langton put a ball into the Gedling box that was cleared by Ramadam and out to Brandy. He played the ball up to Needham who lost the ball to Atkinson. Langton went down the left flank and put the ball into the Gedling box for Hindson who put his header just past the post. Kingshorn won a free kick and Atkinson's ball into the Gedling box was met by Chappell whose header was inches past the post. Sheppard won the ball and went down the right flank. He sent a long cross over to the back post which eluded Mason and fell to HARDY. He guided his header between Mason and the post to make it 1-2 on 88mins. FT 1-2.

Hatfield deserved their win against a pathetic Gedling side because they were the only side that wanted it. Richards and Johnson worked hard and Gray and Ramadam did well in defence but the rest continually gave the ball away and seemed to lack any interest in the game. In their last seven games Gedling have lost 5 and drew two. Before today they had scored 1 goal in 5 games which shows where the problem lies. Come on boys, your better than this.
